You are invited to be one of the first to see a new exhibit of sculptural works by citizen artist vanessa german as they open to the public for the first time at the Rita Blitt Gallery on the campus of Washburn University.
"CRAVING LIGHT" along with a spoken word operetta entitled "THE WAY OF LIGHT" are presented in commemoration of the Brown v. Board case decision on its 70th anniversary. These works contend with the complexities, traumas and triumphs of Brown and have been created through communal conversation, co-creation workshops, and inspired generative responses to a series of artfully structured prompts, thought experiments and communal object offerings.
